Because we all know that presentation is key – Living Ethos offers great orglamic alternatives to wasteful, conventional wrapping paper.  Their collection of reusable, drawstring bags come in a variety of shapes and sizes for all your gift-giving needs.  The attention to detail (grosgrain ribbon, finished seams, buttonhole edges!) assure that these bags are used time and time again, whether it be for next year’s gift or for organizing around the house.  Either way, waste is eliminated from the landfill, and you are able to give a gorgeous gift that won’t be forgotten.  Click here to purchase the orglamic bag pictured above, and here for their wide array of holiday styles.

Vapur

First up is this Vapur water bottle which is perfect for school. I can fill it up in the morning, and when I come home with all of my books and homework, this flexible, lightweight water bottle will lay flat in my binder. In a variety of orGLAMic colors, these BPA-free polymer reusable “bags” can be folded when empty, but stand up easily when they are full. I can freeze it, and then use it as an ice-pack to keep my lunch cool, and then as the water melts, I can drink it. It can be washed in the dishwasher and has a place for me to write my name on it. Its so convenient!  Click here to purchase. -AY

Those of you in the eco-know have probably heard about Envirosax reusable bags by now – but did you realize how many chic, orGLAMic options they carry?  I certainly didn’t, and was thrilled to discover the over 70 styles on their website!  Personally, I am partial to the Midnight Safari for myself (and Sesame Street series for tots!), but there are fabulous organic and bamboo options available as well.  All the waterproof and durable bags are lightweight, making them an easy staple to throw in the back of your car or purse for eco-conscious living at all times!  Click here to shop the entire Envirosax collection.

The People’s Shoe

This Manly Monday post features preppy-chic kicks from The People’s Shoe.  Hand-crafted in Eastern China under strictly regulated conditions, these orGLAMic sneakers come packaged in a 90% post-consumer waste reusable tote made of plastic bags collected off the streets of Bali.  In 2010 The People’s Shoe is also donating 1% of gross revenue to 1% For The Planet, and looking ahead, the company’s next line is set to incorporate elements such as organic canvas and laces, non-toxic glues, natural dyes and nickel-free eyelets.  I think the white and navy shoe pictured above are great for a laid-back, orGLAMic, summertime look, but there are several different choices available by clicking here to purchase.

Envirosax

I have always loved the wide array of designs of Envirosax bags available, but this holiday season these orGLAMic totes are taking on a new life.  Make an impact (and give a great gift!) by wrapping your holiday presents with Envirosax reusable shopping bags.  According to Envirosax, 40 million tons of gift wrap and shopping bags and 38,000 miles of ribbon are tossed during each holiday season.  This year you can wrap your gifts in an additional gift that is lightweight, portable, waterproof and  holds the equivalent of two supermarket plastic bags.  All it takes is one click here for a neat YouTube video on how to wrap with the orGLAMic bags (super simple!), and a click here to purchase one for every gift on your list.

Solar Shoji Lantern

solarshojiWhile the idea of solar lanterns are far from new, they are generally not bright enough to light an evening patio BBQ.  Luckily these beautiful Solar Shoji Lanterns are up to the task, and actually collect enough sunlight during the day to power a bright glow once the sun goes down.  These lanterns are lit by a AAA battery that is charged by solar power.  Inspired by traditional Asian lanterns, I love the simple orGLAMic look of these and the fact that they can be reused endlessly.  And hanging these orGLAMic lanterns throughout your patio is not only eco-friendly, but also helps eliminate unsightly electrical cords and the fire hazard of candles.  Click here to order.

MOMA

This orGLamic blogger has been uber-tired lately, and nothing looks better than this reusable ceramic cup fashioned to look like a disposable coffee cup.  I LOVE how simple and sleek the “I Am Not A Paper Cup” designed by James Burgess is, and more importantly it helps keep trash out of landfills!  It is made out of double-walled porcelain and has a pliable silicone lid that keeps beverages warm without burning your hand.  Click here to buy this orGLAMic addition to your workday.

Verterra

With BBQ season heating up it is the perfect time to invest in Verterra dinnerware.  These plates, bowls, cups and platters are perfect for entertaining and are the most orglamic that I’ve come across.  Each piece is made from 100% renewable and compostable plant matter and water.  They literally collect fallen leaves, apply steam, heat and pressure, and transform the leaves into durable products that will naturally biodegrade in 2 months!  The dinnerware is chemical-free, non-toxic, sustainable, renewable, reusable, compostable and even microwave safe!  Click here to purchase one of my favorite items that I have posted on orGLAMic.
