PACT

PACTThis past weekend, I was lucky enough to co-host the third annual Opportunity Green business conference alongside  the uber-talented Boise Thomas.  Not only did I leave inspired and more knowledgable, but I also got to learn more about several orGLAMic companies that had recently crossed my radar.  Only a couple months old, PACT underwear is already making a big impact.  These skivvies are made of organic cotton, and each unique design supports a different organization.  I personally just ordered the red boy shorts (pictured above) with 10% of the proceeds going to ForestEthics, but 826National and Oceana undies are also available.  Available in several styles for both men and women, PACT underwear comes wrapped in a reusable cloth bag made from scraps and shipped to customers in bright green compostable shipping bags.  Click here to make this orGLAMic purchase.

Nike

Picture 11Time for another installment of Manly Mondays!  Luckily for you orGLAMic fellas out there, Nike continues it’s efforts in social and eco contributions with their new N7 collection.  During the creation of the collection, which includes Air Huaraches, Air Pegasus +26, organic cotton t-shirts, and even preschool and toddler kicks, careful consideration is given to the impact that will be felt by the next seven generations.  To lessen the impact on the environment, all products are engineered around Nike Considered standards for higher performance and lower environmental impact.  In addition, a portion of profits from the N7 product line go directly to the N7 fund which supports sport through social change in the Native community, providing a positive impact on the next seven generations.  Click here to shop Nike’s orGLAMic offerings.

Ecojot

Picture 9Believe it or not, we are wrapping up the first week of November already – and with that, the wrapping of gifts is not too far away either!  These precious notepads from Ecojot can help keep track of all the lucky people in your life who will be receiving orGLAMic gifts this holiday season.  All of the fun items from this Canadian company are made of 100%post-consumer recycled paper, and acid-free, chlorine-free paper & board.  In addition, all of the inks & glues are vegetable based, making the items biodegradable.  These 4.25×11” papers are the perfect way to add a pop of color into your life.  Click here to purchase the items pictured above, or here to browse the entire orGLAMic collection.

Nixxi

nixxiWhen every piece in a collection passes orGLAMic scrutiny, you know that something is being done right!  Vancouver-based Nixxi is THE definiton of orGLAMic style – sleek design made out of sustainable materials (and all the chic greys, black and whites don’t hurt either.)  The classic yet hip designs are sure to be worn for years, which adds to their orGLAMic quotient.  Click here to purchase the Wrap Shawl pictured above, or here to browse the entire orGLAMic collection.  And because it is always chic to save green while going green, Nixxi is offering free shipping on all orders over $150 within North America!  Shop away!

Laura Elizabeth

LauraElizabethJamieThere is something special about the delicate eco-friendly collection from Los Angeles-based jewelry designer Laura Elizabeth.  The Jamie necklace, pictured above, would be my personal orGLAMic pick, but the entire collection is divine.  This specific necklace is made with recycled gold and copper – discarded older pieces which are melted and re-used.  In addition, every piece of jewelry is presented in an organic tea bag.  Laura Elizabeth is also a “1% for the Planet” member, where 1% of Laura Elizabeth profits are given to “1% for the Planet” and they donate to several eco-friendly organizations around the globe.  Click here to purchase the Jamie necklace, and here to browse the entire orGLAMic eco-friendly collection.

Patagonia

Picture 7And for our first installment of….drumroll please…MANLY MONDAYS!  I present this Patagonia Men’s Reversible Phone Home Jacket for all my orGLAMic men out there.  This lightweight jacket is made of organic cotton and has rib-knit cuffs and roomy pockets for all your belongings.  Although it’s made from one of the country’s premier outerwear companies, Patagonia hits the nail on the head with this stylish hoodie that could easily pass for a James Perse piece.  Click here to purchase this less expensive and more eco-friendly version and here to browse all of Patagonia’s -almost 200!- organic, orGLAMic gear.

Burning Torch

burningtorchSometimes, companies offer such great products that they get an orGLAMic shout-out more than once!  Burning Torch is one of those companies.  Last year, I couldn’t resist their recycled cashmere striped sweaters for men, and today the chill in the Southern California air is making me think about how great a Recycled Cashmere Hoodie would feel.  There are 30 styles of sweaters -from cardigans to vests- that are made out of repurposed, vintage cashmere.  Click here to browse the women’s selection and here for the men’s options.  Either way, these orGLAMic fashions are sure to keep you (and loved ones, if you’re already holiday shopping!) orGLAMically warm.

Pacifica

Picture 2I’ve always thought ’soy candles’ when I hear Pacifica, but little did I know that they have orGLAMic Body Butter that is to die for!  The Tuscan Blood Orange scent, pictured above, is divine, but I could easily go for Malibu Lemon Blossom or Medittareanean Fig.  All these body butters are made of natural ingredients, including paraben-free shea butter, almond and safflower oils, and the unique fragrances come from essential and natural oils.  Click here to check out all the orGLAMic body butter’s and here to browse the rest of the collection, including perfumes and soaps.

Miniot

miniotOkay, okay, the men have spoken, and they want to be represented on orGLAMic!  Stay tuned for MANLY MONDAYS debuting next week, but for now check out the orGLAMic Miniot iWood collection.  These beautiful wood cases, available for iPhones and a variety of iPods, are made from wood from well managed forests.  I personally like the walnut wood, but you can choose from mahogany, oak, cherry, and padouk.   These eco-friendly alternatives can be personalized with a monogram, logo or personal message (and you all know how much I love monograms!)  Click here to check out the entire orGLAMic collection.
